This Part of Chicken is Dangerous, Never Eat It

Chicken meat is widely recognized as a popular and nutritious food. It is easily digestible and packed with protein, amino acids, and vitamins, making it a staple in many people’s diets. However, not all parts of the chicken are equally beneficial for your health. A gastroenterologist provides valuable insights into which parts of the chicken can be harmful to your body.

At first glance, popular parts like wings and drumsticks may seem harmless. However, they can pose hidden health risks. Wings, which are mostly skin and bones, offer few significant benefits when consumed frequently. The dark meat of drumsticks, composed of veins, muscles, and tendons, can be difficult for the stomach to digest. Overconsumption can lead to digestive issues. Furthermore, manufacturers often add salt to drumsticks to increase their weight, which can result in elevated sodium levels in the body and negatively impact the cardiovascular system.

According to the expert, the most dangerous part of the chicken is the tail. This section is not only high in fat but also provides a conducive environment for harmful bacteria growth. «The tail is not just a fat deposit. It may contain bacteria that can seriously undermine your health,» warns the gastroenterologist. This part of the chicken should be removed and discarded without hesitation.

Experts also caution against the consumption of chicken skin. The skin is where all the toxins, antibiotics, and hormones used in poultry farming accumulate. Excessive consumption of chicken skin can lead to increased cholesterol levels and a higher risk of atherosclerosis. This is particularly dangerous for individuals with obesity, cardiovascular diseases, pregnant and breastfeeding women, as well as children. Chicken skin is high in fats and calories, making it an undesirable component of the diet for those who are watching their weight or suffering from chronic illnesses.

Fried chicken skin, a favorite for many, accumulates carcinogens and can be potentially harmful to health. Fried, smoked, and grilled chicken are cooking methods that are best avoided to maintain your health. «Carcinogens that form when frying can trigger the development of cancer,» notes the expert.
