The National Company «Romanian Post» (CNPR) has begun the distribution of pensions for the month of May, ahead of the Easter holidays. The total amount required for the advance payment of pensions is over 9.3 billion lei, announced the national postal operator on Saturday.
«Through a joint effort of the Ministry of Labor and Social Solidarity, the Ministry of Finance, the National Pension House, and our partners in the banking sector, the pensions for the month of May will be distributed in advance by the postmen, starting today. We want to bring this satisfaction to our customers, pensioners, to have their pensions as early as possible, so they can enjoy, as is normal, the Easter holidays in peace, with family and loved ones,» said Valentin Stefan, the general director of the Romanian Post.
According to a statement issued by the Romanian Post, for the advance payment of pensions for the month of May 2024, by postal order, the amount of 1.961 billion lei is transferred to the CNPR from the state social insurance budget, respectively 39.359 million lei from the state budget, and to commercial banks the amount of 6.346 billion lei from the state social insurance budget, respectively 683.898 million lei from the state budget.
The total amount required for the advance payment of pensions amounts to over 9.31 billion lei.
The National Company «Romanian Post» is the national operator in the field of postal services and is owned by the Romanian state, represented by the Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digitization (93.52% of the share package) and the Property Fund (6.48% of the share package).
