The government is planning to cut unwarranted bonuses and reduce the income of some public sector employees. As a result, certain categories of civil servants could lose up to 50% of their salaries. The salary law for the public sector will bring many changes. It is expected to come into effect next year. However, this normative act comes with new rules. Specifically, it aims to reduce bonuses. Thus, employees will not be able to receive a bonus greater than 30% of the salary income.
«This is an important thing to point out, because at the moment there are employees in the public sector who earn from bonuses, premiums and other tricks three times the money they normally receive through the fixed salary granted by the state,» said Adrian Negrescu, economic analyst.
