Shock and dismay are evoked by a video capturing the harrowing moment a car strikes a motorcyclist, who was proceeding in the opposite direction on the same road. Post-collision, the motorcyclist is left sprawled on the asphalt as the driver of the car flees the scene at breakneck speed. This hit-and-run incident occurred 10 days prior in the city of Chalkida.
The event took place on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at 9:00 PM on Aliveri Street, close to the central part of the city, and near the Evia Police Department.
Exclusively speaking to EviaZoom.gr was Evangelos Filos, the abandoned motorcycle rider, who suffered knee and neck injuries but was fortunate to escape more serious harm. He reports police apathy and even mockery over the incident and explains that he is independently conducting an investigation with his family to find the irresponsible driver.
Evangelos Filos stated:
«I was abandoned. There’s video evidence from a nearby shop. As far as I can see, the police aren’t taking it seriously… I was riding a Beverly 300cc Vespa, going up Aliveri when a black Peugeot 206, as far as I remember, because there’s video… hit me and left me. Since then, I’ve gotten nowhere… I went to the hospital that night, no ambulance was called at that time, the police came, the traffic department recorded the incident, and after two hours, I went to the hospital because my knee and my neck were in severe pain. Of course, the next day my whole body was hurting from the impact. That was Wednesday night at 9 PM. I’m telling you, I can’t find a solution with anyone anymore…
